Tripp Lite B042-004 4-Port 1U Rackmount USB PS2 KVM Switch with On-Screen Display
Server rooms fill up fast, and rolling a cart between racks gets old. We build this rackmount switch to put an entire row of servers under one keyboard, monitor, and mouse. It mounts clean in the rack and switches between machines using pushbuttons or an on-screen display.
Price as our retail partner last listed it. They set it and they can change it, so the figure on their page is the one that counts at checkout.
- Controls an entire network from one keyboard, mouse and monitor in 1U
- Controls up to 244 computers/servers by daisy-chaining multiple KVM switches
- Supports QXGA video resolutions up to 2048 x 1536
- Compatible with PS/2 and USB computers and servers
- 1-year warranty
How this one is built
Rack mount housing
The metal chassis mounts directly into standard rack rails, sitting flat and taking very little vertical space so air keeps moving through the cabinet.
Console switching
A technician can jump between connected machines using the front panel buttons, hotkey combinations on the keyboard, or the menu on the monitor.
Daisy chain expansion
Linking additional switches together lets one console reach deeper into the row without adding extra monitors or running separate consoles across the floor.
Video handling
The switch carries sharp analog video signals up to high display resolutions, so console text stays legible across long shifts in the rack aisle.
On the nameplate
These are the figures our retail partner lists for this unit. Where a number is missing here it was not printed on the listing, and we would rather leave the row out than fill it with a guess.
