UPS battery backups

A battery backup holds your equipment up while utility power dips or drops out. Ours run from small desk units that carry a router and a modem through a brief cut, up to rack chassis rated in the thousands of volt-amps for a closet full of gear.

32 units in this part of the catalog, $68.52 to $6729.99.

Picking one of these

Two numbers matter and they are not the same. Volt-amps describe the apparent load the unit can take, watts describe the real work it can do, and every one of our nameplates carries both. Size against watts. Runtime is a third question and it falls as the load climbs, so a unit sitting near its ceiling runs the shortest.

The same hardware turns up in more than one kind of room. These are the places this section gets used most:

  • At home — A home office runs on the same utility feed as the kettle and the air conditioner, so it sees every sag those cause.
  • Gaming setups — A gaming machine with a discrete card and two or three displays pulls more from one outlet than most of an office does.
  • Working anywhere — Work that moves between a truck, a site office and a kitchen table needs power that travels with it.
  • IT closets — A closet is the densest thing most sites own and the least often opened.

Not sure of the size

The load calculator adds up what you plan to plug in and leaves only the units rated to carry it with room to spare.
