Copper Ethernet cables

Patch cords and bulk cable in Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a and Cat8, in snagless boots and in slim jackets for dense patch fields. Spools run from short bench lengths out to seven hundred feet for a permanent pull.

51 units in this part of the catalog, $5.90 to $711.97.

Picking one of these

The higher category is not automatically the right one. Cat6a and Cat8 carry more bandwidth over distance and cost more to terminate, while a short hop from a switch to a server rarely needs either. Solid conductor belongs in walls and panels, stranded belongs in patch cords that get moved, and swapping the two shortens the life of both.

The same hardware turns up in more than one kind of room. These are the places this section gets used most:

  • Gaming setups — A gaming machine with a discrete card and two or three displays pulls more from one outlet than most of an office does.
  • IT closets — A closet is the densest thing most sites own and the least often opened.

Not sure of the size

The load calculator adds up what you plan to plug in and leaves only the units rated to carry it with room to spare.
