Tripp Lite Eaton 4K HDMI Over IP Extender Transmitter, DP, USB-C (B163-001)
Source devices sit where you need them, and the displays stay where people actually watch. We built this transmitter to send video, audio and peripheral signals across structured copper wiring using standard network switches. It accepts several common video connections on the input side so you can patch in laptops, media players or workstation towers without hanging dongles off the back.

- 4K HDMI OVER IP TRANSMITTER: Sends 4K@60Hz video and audio over Cat5e/6 Ethernet cable up to 328 ft. (100 m). This transmitter requires at least one B163-100 receiver to complete the extension system (sold separately).
- UNIVERSAL MULTI-INPUT SUPPORT: Connect HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C source devices without separate adapters or encoders. Switch between inputs using front-panel push buttons or the included IR remote for flexible AV installations.
- VISUALLY LOSSLESS 4K VIDEO: Delivers approximately 2 ms latency at 2160p with HDR10, Dolby Vision, HDCP 2.3, 12-bit color, RGB/4:4:4/4:4:2 chroma and 3D video. Local HDMI output supports monitoring without an external splitter.
- SCALABLE 1-TO-MANY DISTRIBUTION: Connect directly to one B163-100 receiver for point-to-point extension or distribute one source to multiple receivers through an IGMP-capable managed switch. Enable IGMP snooping/querier to prevent multicast flooding.
- USB KVM & CONTROL EXTENSION: Extends USB for keyboards, mice and other peripherals, RS-232 for device and system control, and bidirectional IR for remote source and display operation. Ideal for control rooms and automated AV installations.
How this one is built
Multiple video inputs
Patch HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C sources directly into the box. You can swap between active feeds using the front buttons or the handheld remote without pulling cables out of the back plate.
Network distribution
Run one line straight to a receiver, or drop the feed into a managed network switch to reach several displays across a facility. Managed multicast handling keeps the stream from swamping other office traffic on the same subnet.
Local monitor tap
A local loop output lets you plug a display right at the source rack. You see what the remote room is seeing without wiring an extra splitter into your signal path.
Peripheral and serial pass
Keyboards, mice and serial control commands travel over the same network run alongside the picture. That keeps management hardware in the equipment room while letting operators work at remote consoles.
On the nameplate
These are the figures published for this unit. Where a number is missing here it was not printed on the listing, and we would rather leave the row out than fill it with a guess.
