Video, display and A/V cabling

Display and A/V cabling: HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C video, VGA and DVI, along with the active adapters and extenders that get a signal further than a passive cable manages on its own.

51 units in this part of the catalog, $3.50 to $865.00.

Picking one of these

Length is where video cables fail, and they fail as sparkle, dropout or a blank screen rather than a slow decline. Past about fifteen feet at high resolution the answer is an active cable or an extender, not a longer passive one. Adapters have a direction: a cable that converts one way will not quietly work backwards.

The same hardware turns up in more than one kind of room. These are the places this section gets used most:

  • Gaming setups — A gaming machine with a discrete card and two or three displays pulls more from one outlet than most of an office does.
  • Working anywhere — Work that moves between a truck, a site office and a kitchen table needs power that travels with it.

Not sure of the size

The load calculator adds up what you plan to plug in and leaves only the units rated to carry it with room to spare.
