Picking one of these
Gauge is the part people skip. A thinner conductor over a long run drops voltage and gets warm, so the heavy-duty cords in this section use thicker wire than a generic extension of the same length. Read the connector names on both ends before ordering: C13 and C15 look close enough to buy by mistake.

- Gaming setups — A gaming machine with a discrete card and two or three displays pulls more from one outlet than most of an office does.
