How this one is built
Snagless molded boot
The molded boot covers the retaining clip so it slides past neighboring leads without hanging up or snapping off. Integral strain relief supports the wire where it enters the plug body, keeping individual conductors seated through repeated moves.
Gold plated contacts
Gold plating over the contact pins limits corrosion and maintains clean metal-to-metal contact over time. That keeps insertion loss low and near-end crosstalk down across the full link between your switch port and the workstation.
Stranded copper build
Four pair stranded copper wire gives the jacket the flexibility needed for tight bends inside network closets and behind shallow wall boxes. It holds its shape without putting sideways torque on the modular jack it plugs into.
Power over Ethernet
The copper conductors carry low-voltage operating current alongside network traffic to feed compatible VoIP handsets, entry access readers, and ceiling cameras. That lets you drop equipment in locations without a nearby line-voltage outlet.
