Tripp Lite VGA with Audio over Cat5 / Cat6 Extender, Transmitter and Receiver with EDID Copy
Long VGA runs through conduit get stiff and heavy fast. We built this kit to push analog video along with audio across ordinary solid-wire network cabling instead. The transmitter handles the source, while the receiver sits at the display to clean up the signal before it hits the glass.

- Extends a 1920 x 1440 (60Hz) video and audio signal up to 500 ft., or a 1024 x 768 (60Hz) video and audio signal up to 1,000 ft., when using 24Awg, Solid Wire Cat5e/6 cable, such as Tripp Lute's N022-01K-GY (Cat5) and N222-01K-GY (Cat6)
- EDID copy feature ensures optimal display compatibility
- For optimal image quality between 500 and 1,000 ft., use Zero-Skew cable, such as Tripp Lite P524-01K
- The remote (Receiver) unit features built-in Equalization and Gain controls to adjust the video image
- Includes mounting hardware for both local and remote units, allowing them to be wall mounted, rack mounted or pole mounted
How this one is built
EDID capture built in
The transmitter copies display information directly from the screen. That helps your video source feed the correct resolution and timing across the link without constant manual rechecks on the operating system side.
Adjustments at the receiver
Built-in equalization and gain controls let you dial in sharpness and brightness right where the display sits. It cleans up softness and color drag that can show up across long copper runs.
Solid wire transmission
The system runs over solid twisted-pair cabling to keep signal loss down over distance. Using low-skew cable keeps color channels aligned cleanly across long pulls through ceilings and conduit runs.
Hardware for mounting
Both boxes ship with hardware so you can secure them off the floor. Fix them to a wall, tuck them into an equipment rack, or mount them directly to a display pole.
On the nameplate
These are the figures published for this unit. Where a number is missing here it was not printed on the listing, and we would rather leave the row out than fill it with a guess.
