The reduced outer diameter takes up far less physical space in a crowded bundle. That lets exhaust heat escape through the rack instead of banking up behind solid walls of heavy patching.
Shielded stranded copper
Internal shielding guards the twisted pairs against line noise from nearby power runs and neighboring patch leads. The stranded copper core flexes easily around tight cabinet corners without kinking.
Snagless locking boots
Molded hoods keep the plastic retention clips from catching and snapping when you pull a run back through a packed bundle. The strain relief keeps the wire firmly seated in the housing.
Gold plated contacts
Gold plating across the contact pins maintains clean metal-to-metal contact with the jack. That keeps near-end crosstalk down and holds signal quality steady across years of moves and changes.
