Snagless connector hoods
Pulling a lead back through a crowded bundle can snap a bare plastic tab. Molded hoods cover the release levers so the ends slide through without catching on neighboring drops.
Gold plated contacts
Corrosion on mating surfaces degrades signal quality over time. The plug contacts carry a gold finish to keep contact resistance low across repeat insertions into switches or wall jacks.
Molded strain relief
Repeated bends right behind the modular plug weaken standard crimps. Integral molding supports the conductor transitions so daily movement does not pull individual pairs loose from their pins.
Power over Ethernet
The conductors carry operating current alongside network traffic for compatible gear. Security cameras, access points, and desk phones pull their operating draw directly over the patch run.
