Tripp Lite SK3-0 Surge Protector 3 Outlet Extender Power Strip
Wall outlets behind workbenches and hotel desks rarely offer enough receptacles for the gear on hand. We built this direct-plug tap to add outlets right at the wall plate without adding a floor cord. Internal suppression components absorb line spikes before they reach connected loads, while status lights show the state of the circuit.

How this one is built
Direct wall mount
Plugs straight into a standard duplex receptacle without a power cord to clutter the floor. The compact housing leaves adjacent outlets open for other equipment while holding firmly against the wall plate under the weight of connected plugs.
Internal suppression circuit
Metal oxide varistors absorb transient voltage spikes that travel along building wiring. An automatic shutoff cuts feed to the receptacles if the suppression components ever wear out from handling heavy line surges, keeping compromised circuits offline.
Diagnostic status lights
Built-in LEDs confirm line conditions at a glance. A green indicator shows active surge suppression on the load side, while a red indicator confirms that the wall receptacle connects to an operational building ground.
Portable travel housing
The light housing slips easily into a laptop bag or tool kit for temporary setups on the road. It provides multiple outlets for workstations, test benches or appliances wherever wall taps are limited.
